Woensdag 9 juni van 17.00-18.30 uur heeft de Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in samenwerking met ECP een informatiebijeenkomst georganiseerd over het succesvolle publiek-private samenwerkingsmodel van ECP. De Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is het wereldwijde orgaan dat de coördinatie doet van de domeinnamen en aanverwante systemen waarop consumenten en bedrijven vertrouwen voor hun producten en diensten. In de sessie gingen Arie van Bellen (ECP), Mark Esseboom (IBM), en Maarten Botterman (ICANN) in gesprek over de rol van het bedrijfsleven in het digitale beleid.
Nederland loopt wereldwijd voor op op het gebied van digitalisering. Het Platform dat ECP biedt, met onder andere haar leden uit het bedrijfsleven, is een belangrijke reden voor dit succes. ECP fungeert al bijna 20 jaar als een betrouwbaar platform dat zich inzet voor een inclusieve en kansrijke digitale samenleving.

On the occasion of ICANN’s 71st public meeting — taking place “virtually” in The Hague, Netherlands — please join a discussion with ECP, the premier Dutch multistakeholder platform for digital policy, to share experiences, and highlight the role of the private sector in formulating Internet policy. Leaders from these organizations will explain the workings of the multi-stakeholder models for advancing the voice of business in shaping our digital future.
The Netherlands consistently ranks among the most digitally competitive countries in the world. ECP, and its business members, are a large reason for this success, serving as a trusted platform for advice and information for nearly 20 years. The ICANN Business Users Constituency, known colloquially as “The BC”, is the voice of commercial Internet users within ICANN, the global body coordinating the domain names and related systems that consumers and businesses rely upon for products and services.
