On Wednesday the 28th of May, from 1:30 – 5:00 PM, ECP | Platform for the Information Society is organising an event on generative AI in collaboration with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) (Dutch Data Protection Authority): “Generative AI: moving forward responsibly”. The event takes place at the Koninklijke Schouwburg, The Hague.
Generative AI evolves rapidly and plays an increasingly significant role in our society. This presents tremendous opportunities, which can be leveraged if accompanied by the safeguarding and strengthening of fundamental rights. As the Dutch DPA and coordinating supervisor on algorithms and AI, the AP advocates for a future in which fundamental rights serve as both a starting point and a springboard for the development and adoption of technology.
The AP will soon publish a vision document that delves deeper into generative AI. What exactly do we mean by this new technology? What developments are taking place and what developments can we expect? What tools are available or needed to ensure responsible adoption? Prior to the event, we will share this vision document with you.
This event aims to engage professionals involved in the development, deployment and use of generative AI, focusing on its responsible adoption. The AP seeks to foster societal dialogue on responsible AI use and encourage mutual learning on shaping its role in society. For this event, ECP will convene representatives from government, business, academia and civil society for a collaborative discussion with all attendees and the AP on this topic. Arie van Bellen (Managing Director – ECP) will moderate the discussion. The day will conclude with networking drinks.
