Joanna Klopotowska

“The real problem is not whether machines think but whether men do.” – B.F. Skinner

I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Medical Informatics in Amsterdam UMC, hospital pharmacist, medication safety advocate, eHealth enthousiast, creative mind and above all very curious. I am driven by my passion to improve health care quality and safety in a way that is empowering for patients and health care workers. I am convinced that, if used wisely, information technology can make health care safer, more personalized, transparent, and sustainable.

My main areas of expertise are:

  • (Complex) interventions to improve quality and safety of care, especially quality and safety of medication related processes such as medication prescribing & monitoring by doctors and medication use by patients;
  • (Automated) tools to measure Adverse Drug Events (ADEs), medication errors (MEs) and quality indicators (QIs);
  • Electronic Hospital Records and Patient portals; – Computerized Clinical Decision Support systems;
  • Pharmacotherapy in older patients.

Jaarcongres ECP
